The Avon Park Red Devils were the 61-22 winner over the Sebring Blue Streaks when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Avon Park's tough 62-42 loss to Sebring on Tuesday might stick with them for a while.
Despite the loss, Avon Park still got an impressive performance from Tytianna Allen, who scored 35 points.
Sebring can attribute much of their success to Adrianna Maldonado, who scored 23 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Gileanys Nieves Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 steals.
Avon Park's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Sebring, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon Park will challenge Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clewiston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday. As for Sebring, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Wales at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
