In what's become a running theme this season, the Richmond Christian Warriors gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Grove Christian School 53-21 on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Richmond Christian who now have five in a row.
Richmond Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kailah Carter, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of Richmond Christian's points. Morgan Trimble was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals.
Despite the defeat, Grove Christian School saw an underclassman step up: Sidney Fisher scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Fisher has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played.
Richmond Christian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Grove Christian School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Richmond Christian will take on Cristo Rey at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cristo Rey comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Grove Christian School, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on The New Community School at 5:45 p.m. on January 16th. The New Community School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
