Despite the defeat, McDermitt had strong showings from Shandon Camas, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Warrick Crutcher, who scored eight points along with five assists and five steals. That's the first time this season that Camas scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Chris Scott, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, McDermitt were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
McDermitt's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 43-131.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McDermitt will square off against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lassen is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Cook Inlet Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
