The Chilton County Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Marbury Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chilton County is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Chilton County might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Pelham who claimed the real prize. Chilton County took a 34-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pelham.
Logan Coppedge put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 303 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.2 yards per attempt. Demarcus Riddick was in the mix too, providing Chilton County with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Marbury had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Shelby County with a 32-28 win two weeks ago. The win was just what Marbury needed coming off of a 46-20 defeat in their prior game.
Carsyn Cobb was his usual excellent self, rushing for 112 yards and three touchdowns. Cobb hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games.
Pelham's win bumped their season record to 5-4 while Chilton County's defeat dropped theirs to 3-6.
Chilton County strolled past Marbury in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 31-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chilton County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
