It was a good run, but the Arts Jaguars unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 62-41 loss at the hands of Florida State University High School. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arts has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florida State University High School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Iyran Francis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Francis is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 14 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrell "TJ" Baker, who scored 14 points along with six assists and two steals.
Arts' loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Florida State University High School, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
Arts will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Sports Leadership & Management is ranked 26th in Florida, while Arts is ranked 40th in New Jersey). Florida State University High School won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Winter Haven at 8:00 p.m. on January 13th. Winter Haven is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
