Baseball Recap: West Deptford Has No Trouble Against Triton

The West Deptford Eagles made easy work of the Triton Mustangs on Friday and carried off an 8-1 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Caleb Delaney made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Delaney was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Cole McKenna was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Grady Gasparovic, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

West Deptford's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Triton, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Deptford will face off against Collingswood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triton, they will host Deptford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
