Legacy and Brighton are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Legacy Lightning will be playing at home against the Brighton Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Legacy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Brighton has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
On Wednesday, Legacy was able to grind out a solid win over Prairie View, taking the game 59-47. Given Legacy's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Prairie View is ranked 258th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legacy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joey Delescinskis, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Delescinskis has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedon Ward, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Brighton earned a 53-42 win over Poudre on Tuesday. The win was just what Brighton needed coming off of a 78-48 defeat in their prior contest.
Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Brighton, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.
Legacy strolled past Brighton when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 57-43. Does Legacy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brighton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
