There's no place like home for The Arvada Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 33-18 win over Weld Central on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Arvada also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arvada to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor Lucero, who threw for 251 yards and a touchdown on only 17 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Munguia, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.
Arvada's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Weld Central's QB won't forget Christian Lake anytime soon given Lake sacked him five times.
Despite the loss, Weld Central had strong showings from Marcello Rossi, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and Zakk Miller, who picked up 128 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Arvada's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Weld Central, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Arvada does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Weld Central also has no future games currently scheduled.
