In other pitching news, Gavin Eells looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Jack Brown was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with four runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Saccone, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Roman Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .574. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Roman Catholic's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Conwell-Egan Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
