Last Friday, Corpus Christi Moody was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 26-21 to Ray.
Corpus Christi Moody's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Adrian Luna Jr., who rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and Kayden Dufour who rushed for 142 yards on only 11 carries. Dufour was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 51 yards.
Meanwhile, Alice entered their tilt with King with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Alice blew past King 32-0 on the road. Considering Alice has won six matches by more than 25 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Among those leading the charge was Roel Gonzalez, who rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucian Cruz, who threw for 121 yards and a touchdown.
Corpus Christi Moody bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.8 points per game. As for Alice, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Corpus Christi Moody might still be hurting after the 48-27 loss they got from Alice in their previous matchup back in November of 2017. Can Corpus Christi Moody avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
