The Eastmoor Academy Warriors pushed their score all the way to 71 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 79-71 to Briggs. Eastmoor Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Briggs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Eastmoor Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Stephon Simpkins, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was James Nowell, who scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals.
Eastmoor Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-6. As for Briggs, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastmoor Academy will take on Marion-Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Briggs, they will head out on the road to face off against Africentric Early College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
