The Hamilton Heights Huskies won the last time they faced the Lapel Bulldogs, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Hamilton Heights walked away with a 53-42 victory over Lapel. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hamilton Heights.
Camryn Runner was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Hamilton Heights' points. Ella Hickok was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
Despite the defeat, Lapel saw an underclassman step up: Laniah Wills dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Wills' 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Love, who scored eight points.
Hamilton Heights is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Lapel, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
Hamilton Heights is on the road again on Thursday and play against Blackford at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Blackford is on a five-game streak of home wins, Hamilton Heights a seven-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Lapel will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Elwood at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
