Tenley Carlisle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Harris, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Gracin Shaffer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-4.
Normangee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Centerville was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They came up short against Slocum, falling 16-1.
Normangee's win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Normangee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Centerville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
