The Miyamura Patriots will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Laguna Acoma Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Last Saturday, Miyamura made easy work of Hatch Valley and carried off a 9-3 victory. Considering the Patriots have won three games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Felix Lopez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Seth Torres and Shane Escajada did most of the damage at the plate: Torres scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4, while Escajada scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Miyamura is 2-1 when Torres posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Xavier Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.
Miyamura kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Laguna Acoma had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let Thoreau get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The matchup marked Laguna Acoma's most dominant victory of the season so far.
Laguna Acoma got a massive performance out of Xavier Arkie, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Twobull, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Laguna Acoma's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Miyamura, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Miyamura hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Laguna Acoma struggles in that department as they've averaged .377. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
