Margaretta has gone 7-2 against Edison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Polar Bears will look to defend their home field against the Chargers at 4:45 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Margaretta is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Willard on Wednesday as they made off with a 17-7 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Polar Bears as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Elie Grime spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Lucy Edwards was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Ellaynah Schaefer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Margaretta always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Edison made easy work of Wellington on Wednesday and carried off a 14-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Abby Cloud made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Cloud was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Stella Brown and Peyton Taylor did most of the damage at the plate: Brown scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4, while Taylor got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Brown has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ivy Kluding, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Edison pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Margaretta, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Margaretta hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Edison struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Margaretta took their win against Edison when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Polar Bears repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
