The Irondequoit Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell to Rush-Henrietta 38-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Irondequoit in their matchups with Rush-Henrietta: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Irondequoit had strong showings from Kailey Besio, who scored 16 points, and Aubrey Smith, who scored five points along with 15 rebounds and five assists. Smith is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Irondequoit's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rush-Henrietta, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Irondequoit has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Gates Chili at 7:15 p.m. on December 8th. Rush-Henrietta will take on Eastridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
