The Birmingham Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Del Norte Nighthawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Birmingham has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 405 points over their last eight matchups.
Birmingham extended their postseason success on Saturday against Garfield. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 49-7 win over the Bulldogs. Considering Birmingham has won 11 matchups by more than 28 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Birmingham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dredon Fowles led the charge by rushing for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ronnell Hewitt and his 174 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Birmingham's victory.
Meanwhile, Del Norte has more to be thankful for after their contest against La Jolla on Saturday. Del Norte took down La Jolla 31-15. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Del Norte's nine-point performance the contest before.
Del Norte can attribute much of their success to Jack Schneider, who threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Remigio, who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries.
Their wins bumped Birmingham to 11-2 and Garfield to 11-2.
