The Whitman Vikings are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Milford Mill Academy Millers at 5:00 p.m. on December 26th. Whitman will be strutting in after a victory while Milford Mill Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Churchill scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Whitman still came out on top. Whitman sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over Churchill. That's two games straight that Whitman has won by exactly three points.
It was another big night for Sean Curran, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Evan Brown, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Milford Mill Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Long Reach. While losing is never fun, Milford Mill Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Long Reach is ranked 35th).
Whitman's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Milford Mill Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
