River Valley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the ALA - West Foothills Guardians 6-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dust Devils also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Mickey Gonzalez made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Zain Bruton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Jeremiah Putt was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

River Valley's record is now 7-2-2. As for ALA - West Foothills, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.

Coming up, River Valley will square off against Yuma Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
