The Elysian Fields Yellowjackets will venture away from home to challenge the Beckville Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Friday, Elysian Fields needed a bit of extra time to put away Union Grove. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lions 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

John Beavers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zane Childs, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, Beckville entered their tilt with Waskom on Friday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Wildcats.
Like Elysian Fields, Beckville also got a great game from a two-way player: Reed Chapman. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Chapman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Aiden Brantley was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Brock White also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Beckville pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Elysian Fields, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-9.
