Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mooresville walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Perry Meridian Falcons on Tuesday as they made off with a 52-29 victory. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Ava Shafer, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points. Makenzie Holtzclaw was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.
Mooresville was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Perry Meridian only posted three assists.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ally Raymer, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Raymer has posted since back in November of 2023. Ella Cross also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.
Mooresville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Perry Meridian, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.
Mooresville will face off against Decatur Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Perry Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
