After flying high against the KIPP Legacy Lions last Friday, Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats came back down to earth. Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats was dealt a 71-43 defeat at the hands of Northside L on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Northside L is ranked 58th).
Northside L's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JOEY HEASTON, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. HEASTON is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. DUKE KARNES was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Northside L, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 24-4.
Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats on the road again on Saturday and play against Meadowdale at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Northside L will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Horizon Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th.
