The York Cougars had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 26-17 win over Riverside on Friday. The victory was just what York needed coming off of a 38-7 defeat in their prior match.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to York's defense and their four sacks. Riverside's QB won't forget Michael Wanger anytime soon given Wanger sacked him twice.
Despite the loss, Riverside still got an impressive performance from Mikkel Skinner, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.
York has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Riverside, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
York will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Westside at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. Westside has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 261 points over their last five games. Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
