Last Thursday, everything went Grand County's way against San Juan as Grand County made off with a 59-39 victory. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Grand County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trinity Bryant led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 19 points, 12 boards, and nine steals. That's the most rebounds Bryant has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ainsleigh Kasprick, who put up 19 points in addition to six boards and five steals.
Grand County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Merit Preparatory Academy came up short against Freedom Prep Academy on Friday and fell 31-18.
Ayla Coltharp was Merit Preparatory Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Kya Snyder held things down on the boards with 16 rebounds.
Merit Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Grand County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Grand County has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Merit Preparatory Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
