Volleyball Recap: Richardson Extends Winning Streak to Four

Richardson took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles won by a set and slipped past the Coyotes 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Mackenzie Ratcliff paced Richardson's offense, picking up 27 kills. Ratcliff got some help from Mariajose Cordero and her 28 assists.

Heritage's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Candace Jones, who had 14 digs and three aces, and Skylar Leonard, who had 12 digs and two assists. Jones has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Richardson's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Heritage, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Richardson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Hockaday on the 23rd. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to take on Anna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
