Basketball Recap: Burges Piles Up the Points Against Andress

Burges entered their tilt with Andress on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Andress Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-17 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-11.

Burges got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Danae Gonzalez out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The contest was Gonzalez's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameryn Morales, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Burges was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Andress only posted one assist.

Burges is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points per game. As for Andress, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burges will take on El Paso at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Burges' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Andress, they will square off against Chapin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
