7A District 8 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Durant extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 8 this week by beating Riverview, 57-27. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.

East Bay's dynamic duo of Chris Carpentier and Brandon Byrd proved tough for Brandon to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Carpentier threw for 84 yards and one touchdown and Byrd had 62 yards receiving. Eric Hood helped East Bay's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
Will Worth was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 132 yards as Newsome bested the Eagles. John Hendricks also contributed to the rushing game with 82 yards on the ground.
Plant City's Nick Rodriguez and Tavares Chase have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 7A District 8 in both passing and receiving yards. Rodriguez has thrown for 1325 yards this season, while Chase, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 15 catches for 388 yards. Jamarlon Hamilton from Mike Gottman's team leads the league in rushing with 1089 yards.
East Bay made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,079 from 5,652. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 7-6 victory over Brandon last week.
