Softball Recap: Warwick's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Warwick came out on top against Cornwall Central on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Wildcats took their contest against the Dragons 8-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meghan Tennant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Eva Garofalo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rylee Moore, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Cornwall Central, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Warwick has already played their next game, a 13-0 win against Monticello on the 23rd. As for Cornwall Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 15-0 victory against Washingtonville on the 23rd.
