While losing is never fun, Riverdale Baptist can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Shabach Christian Academy is ranked eighth).
Riverdale Baptist's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aliyah Eason, who scored 19 points. Ariana Meriedy was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two blocks.
Riverdale Baptist dropped their record down to 15-20 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Shabach Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.
Riverdale Baptist didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-37 defeat vs. Winston-Salem Christian on the 9th. Shabach Christian Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 64-39 victory against St. John's Catholic Prep on the 10th.
