Cache is 1-8 against Weatherford since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Cache came up short against Elk City and fell 19-7.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weatherford). They breezed past Douglass to the tune of 62-20 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Weatherford's win came from a few key players Cache will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Noah Wald, who rushed for 31 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 134 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jakoby Flynn, who gained 118 total yards and two touchdowns.
Weatherford's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Henry Davis, Luke Downs, and Ascher Price, who each picked up one sack apiece. Preston King was another major factor on D, making six total tackles and snagged an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Weatherford pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points over those games. As for Cache, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Cache took a serious blow against Weatherford in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 39-0. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
