The Suwannee Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Palatka Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Suwannee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Suwannee had no problem doing just that on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 48-8 victory over the Colts. That looming 48-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Suwannee yet this season.
Shadavia Jones was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 13 points. Kiera Jelks was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, Palatka had to suffer through a rough 55-24 loss at the hands of the Yellow Jackets. While losing is never fun, Palatka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 64th).
Suwannee's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Palatka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-10.
Suwannee beat the Panthers 54-42 in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Suwannee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
