The Bunn Wildcats had to endure a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 42-23 victory over Granville Central on Wednesday. Bunn's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Alana Sanders continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Bunn's points. Mercedes Fowler was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Bunn's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-8. As for Granville Central, they bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bunn will finish 2023 at home by hosting Vance County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Vance County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Granville Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Louisburg at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
