The Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy Cougars posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past True North 51-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy.
It was another big night for Fernando Martin, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Ayden Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for True North, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.
Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy will head out on the road to face off against Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. True North won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against CHSA HomeSchool at 3:40 p.m. on January 26th.
