Softball Game Recap: Reavis Rams vs. Hillcrest Hawks

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oak Forest, Reavis was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Hillcrest Hawks get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Lily Fish made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Natalie Briones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Jocelyn Martinez was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Reavis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Reavis' victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-8. As for Hillcrest, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Reavis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-4 loss against Evergreen Park on the 14th. As for Hillcrest, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Thornton Fractional South at 4:30 p.m. The Hawks are facing the Red Wolves at the right time seeing as the Red Wolves are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
