Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Cornerstone Academy Cougars, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 60-47 to the Lions on Tuesday. Cornerstone Academy has struggled against Redeemer Christian recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Redeemer Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Beau Suarez, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Suarez hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Miller-Edwards, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.
Cornerstone Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Redeemer Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season.
Cornerstone Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Redeemer Christian, they will take on Saint Francis Catholic at TBD on Thursday. Saint Francis Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Redeemer Christian likes a good challenge.
