If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Xavier. They will challenge Marion on the road at 7:15 PM on Friday. Marion will need to watch out since Xavier have now posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
Xavier might be getting used to good results now that the squad has eight wins in a row. Everything came up roses for them against Center Point-Urbana last Friday as the squad secured a 41-0 win. Fans of Xavier have seen this all before: every one of Xavier's games this year has ended as a stomp.
After a string of three wins, Marion's good fortune finally ran out. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 28-62 walloping at Western Dubuque's hands. Marion were down by 28-55 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Xavier's victory lifted them to 8-0 while Marion's loss dropped them down to 4-4. We'll find out if Xavier can add another positive mark to their record or if Marion can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Xavier's step.
