Basketball Game Preview: Ballston Spa Scotties vs. Bethlehem Central Eagles

Ballston Spa is 1-9 against Bethlehem Central since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Ballston Spa Scotties will look to defend their home court against the Bethlehem Central Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Ballston Spa is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Shaker on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ballston Spa was beaten by Shaker 86-34. The Scotties were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.

Ballston Spa's defeat came about despite a quality game from Aubrey Kramer, who posted nine points and five rebounds. Kramer is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jessica Bowens, who earned six points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 61-55 to Colonie Central. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Raiders are ranked 33rd).

Ballston Spa's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Bethlehem Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
