The Strath Haven Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Henderson Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Strath Haven 3, Henderson 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Wednesday, Strath Haven needed a bit of extra time to put away Lower Merion. They had just enough and edged out the Aces 3-2.
Jasper Hals tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Strath Haven is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise.
At the plate, Strath Haven's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Selverian, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Henderson entered their tilt with Great Valley on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Patriots. With that win, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Jake Schultz looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Henderson got a massive performance out of Cole Ryan, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Ryan a new career-high in RBI (two). Ethan Franks was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.
Strath Haven is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Henderson, their record is now 8-4.
Strath Haven came out on top in a nail-biter against Henderson in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
