The Pine Crest Panthers were the 68-52 winner over the West Boca Raton Bulls when they last played one another back in January of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. Pine Crest fell 63-52 to West Boca Raton on Tuesday. Pine Crest has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Pine Crest saw an underclassman step up: Rowan Hoffman scored 24 points. Hoffman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Teich, who scored 12 points.
Pine Crest has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for West Boca Raton, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Crest will take on Inlet Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Boca Raton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Olympic Heights at 7:30 p.m.
