Oak Grove will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Sicily Island at 7:00 PM. The two teams each escaped (but just barely !) with wins against their previous opponents.
Oak Grove might be getting used to good results now that the squad has eight wins in a row. They had just enough and edged out Delhi 41-38. Among those leading the charge for Oak Grove was junior Otis Moore, who rushed for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns. That makes it five straight good games in a row from Moore.
Meanwhile, Sicily Island took an ego-bruising defeat against Delhi two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Friday. Sicily Island came out on top in a nail-biter against Cedar Creek, sneaking past 27-24. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
Their wins bumped Sicily Island to 4-4 and Oak Grove to 8-0. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Sicily Island and Oak Grove clash.
