Softball Recap: Ariton Has No Trouble Against Houston County

While Ariton put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Houston County. The Purple Cats were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Lions. The Purple Cats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

Ariton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-14-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Houston County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Looking ahead, Ariton will challenge Kinston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Purple Cats will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Houston County, they will be playing at home against Geneva County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
