The Freeman Scotties will be playing at home against the West Valley Eagles at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
On Tuesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Freeman had to settle for a 52-50 defeat against Lakeside. Freeman has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Freeman saw an underclassman step up: Taylee Phelps scored 24 points. The game was Phelps' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Semprimoznik, who scored 12 points.
West Valley can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They breezed by Riverside on the road to the tune of 62-23. West Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Freeman now has a losing record at 2-3. As for West Valley, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.
Everything came up roses for Freeman against West Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 89-39 victory. With Freeman ahead 51-21 at the half, the match was all but over already.
