The Vestaburg Wolverines were the 45-39 winner over the Montabella Mustangs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Vestaburg took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Montabella on Friday. Vestaburg just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Despite the loss, Vestaburg saw an underclassman step up: Lily Johnston scored 14 points.
Vestaburg now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Montabella, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Vestaburg will look to defend their home court on Monday against St. Louis at 6:30 p.m. St. Louis' defense has only allowed 27.4 points per game this season, so Vestaburg's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Montabella, they will head out on the road to square off against Breckenridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Breckenridge is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
