Lincoln Trail recap November 5, 2013
Mercer County scaled the state rankings by moving to 67 from 95 this week, the biggest jump in Lincoln Trail. The Golden Eagles were able to move up by beating Wethersfield/Annawan 33-6.
Stark County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Flanagan/Woodland, 50-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Rebels.
West Prairie's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Cyclones feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Blackledge has thrown for 230 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Ethan Peterson has 17 catches for 217 yards.
Mercer County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,854 from 2,837. The improvement was largely due to a 33-6 victory over the Flying Geese last week.
