The Monarch Coyotes won the last time they faced the Erie Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Monarch took down Erie 55-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Monarch.
Leading Monarch to victory were Sienna Williams and Hayley Luther. Williams dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Luther scored 17 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Trobaugh, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Erie still got an impressive performance from Maddie Hartel, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ashley Keazer, who scored three points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Monarch has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Erie, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.
Monarch won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Arvada West at 12:00 p.m. on February 10th. Monarch is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for Erie, they and Mountain Range will face off at 12:30 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mountain Range is coming into the contest with three straight victories on the road, so Erie is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
