The J.H. Rose Rampants are taking a road trip to challenge the Perquimans Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as J.H. Rose comes in on four and Perquimans on five.
On Wednesday, everything went J.H. Rose's way against West Carteret as J.H. Rose made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Rampants have won four matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
J.H. Rose got a great performance from Caleb Grandy as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

Abulatifa went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Haddock went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Abulatifa a new career-high. Parker Watson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
J.H. Rose always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Carteret only posted an OBP of .294.
Meanwhile, everything went Perquimans' way against Northside - Pinetown on Wednesday as Perquimans made off with a 15-2 victory. The Pirates are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fourth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Evan Conway made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Will Rucker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Jacob Askew, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Perquimans pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for J.H. Rose, their record now sits at 6-1.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. J.H. Rose hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Perquimans struggles in that department as they've averaged .314. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went J.H. Rose's way against Perquimans in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, as J.H. Rose made off with a 19-9 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for J.H. Rose since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
