The Meeker Bulldogs fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 24-17 win over Crossings Christian on Friday. For Meeker, this counts as revenge for the 41-19 loss Crossings Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Meeker's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Treyvon Compton, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 217 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes. Meeker also got a significant boost from Ajay Lynch, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 141 yards.
When it comes to explaining why Crossings Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Olson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Meeker is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Crossings Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Meeker will be playing in front of their home fans against Star-Spencer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crossings Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Kellyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kellyville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
