Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Satellite's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Satellite won the last time they faced Ferguson and things went their way on Saturday too. The Satellite Scorpions blew past the Ferguson Falcons 12-3. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won seven matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Satellite let Harlowe Doolittle and Michaella Gaskins run wild. Doolittle went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Gaskins scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those four RBI gave Doolittle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karalyn Webb, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Satellite is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Ferguson and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Satellite will head out on the road to take on Key West at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Satellite's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Key West's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ferguson, they will host Miami Beach at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Miami Beach knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Ferguson likes a good challenge.
