Meanwhile, Frankenmuth was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 54-49 to Freeland. Frankenmuth has not had much luck with Freeland recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Frankenmuth's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carson Knoll, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds, and Thomas Conzelmann who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. Conzelmann scored a full 26.5% of Frankenmuth's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Riley Hubbard was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 3 steals.
Arthur Hill's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Traverse City Central's loss dropped them down to 0-4.
Arthur Hill strolled past Frankenmuth in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 60-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arthur Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
