Baseball Recap: Wolcott RVT Wins Going Away Against Bullard-Havens

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Wolcott RVT and Bullard-Havens, and Wolcott RVT kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. Considering the Wildcats have won five matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brody Nadeu and Damian Webb made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Nadeu tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Webb struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. At bat, Nadeu went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Webb went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That triple was Nadeu's first of the season.

In other batting news, Colton Rogola and Devon Schmitt did most of the damage at the plate: Rogola went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Schmitt went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Rogola also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Mason Carter was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Wolcott RVT has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Bullard-Havens, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wolcott RVT will challenge Bassick at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bullard-Havens, they will venture away from home to square off against Wilcox RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
